ARTIST STATEMENT

I need purpose, as many of us do. I need to contribute, to understand and to grow in order to feel a sense of worth in my creations.

I’ve always felt a deep sense of purpose in creating content that educates, inspires, and challenges audiences. Through my work, I hope to create a greater sense of understanding and empathy in the world. I believe that when we can see the world from different perspectives, we can create a more just and equitable society.

Whether I’m working on a film that explores a social issue or documenting the life of a fascinating individual, the process of storytelling is what drives me.

I’m constantly exploring the intersectionality of teaching, community development, and documentary content creation to find new and impactful ways to tell stories.

I strive to be invisible in the outcome of my work. If done well, if done right, I can extract myself and what is left will remain, whether that be in a film, a classroom or the community.
